The Poverello's Walk
800 hundred years have passed away;
Yet, Francis enduring spirit lights up the way.
Stripped his robes, kissed the leper, embracing pain,
Lived the Gospel, proclaimed Christ with conviction
The wounds of Christ in his hands and feet,
The holy Stigmata a scared gift complete.
Go repair my Church the cross spoke softly;
He answered God’s call with love and fidelity.
Sun, Moon, Stars and Wind are the voices of praise,
Mirror of perfection, Eucharistic thirst set heart ablaze.
Crib at Greccio, Rule, Testament, letters, legend tell,
Of a soul who searched the marrow of the Gospel.
"Let us begin again" the wake up call bold,
We Ursulines walk the path poor Francis trod.
Healing the sick, the broken, and the wounded,
We carry out your holy and true command.
