“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness” (2 Tim 4: 7). In order to gain this crown, Sr Claudia has chosen the significant day of the feast of the Holy Trinity and joined the heavenly Saints and Angels.

Sr Claudia hails from Madanthyar, Sacred Heart Church. She was born on July 27^th 1941 to Late Mr Stanislaus Tauro and Late Mrs Seraphine Pinto among the 8^th children, she was the last one. She was baptized as Juliana Tauro. Her primary schooling was done in Guardian Angel Higher Primary School, Madanthyar, High School at Kundapur and Pre University at St Agnes College, Bendur.

Her two Sisters are in our own Congregation namely Late Sr Flavia Tauro and Patricia Tauro. As she was the last she was inspired by her two Religious Sisters and joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation on June 1^st 1960 and May 15^th 1962 she pronounced her first vows and in  May 15^th 1967 she made her perpetual Profession and surrendered completely to the Lord for his service. She completed her B. Ed and M.A studies and was an able teacher and efficient Headmistress at Belthangady, Bejai, Kelari, Bhatkal, Tanzania, and served as an animator of the community at Kallianpur, Kelarai and Bejai. There is no doubt that she has raised the standard of the Schools and Colleges of our Congregation as well of our Province as an Educational Secretary and Deputy Secretary with her multifaceted personality.

Sr Claudia has guided and motivated many students to choose good carrier in life and also teaching catechesis and through value education she has nurtured the faith and instilled the love of Christ in the hearts of children. Through her exemplary life she paved the way to respond to the call of Christ. She has lived a beautiful life of Christ through fasting and prayer, leading and joining the charismatic prayers and thus attracting many to the Lord. Indeed a true follower of Christ!

Sr Claudia was intelligent and wise in discerning the ways of God in the life of the Sisters of the Congregation and in the Province specially in Education Apostolate. She had a peaceful countenance, always calm, simple and compassionate, hard working and loving. After her retirement, she found joy in growing vegetables and being with the nature and Laudato Si was her life style.

In the year 2020 she was transferred to Somarpann Novitiate to spend the evening hours of her life in prayer and to set an example to the novices. From one and half year her health was deteriorating and found difficult to do her own work. The Sisters in the community assisted in all her personal needs and accompanied her through their prayers at the bed side. Whenever Sisters or family members enquired about her health her response with her cheerful countenance was “I am fine” and in turn she enquired about their health. She surrendered all her sufferings and pain to the crucified Lord silently and had a great devotion to Mary our Mother and Rosary was the weapon to implore God’s blessings to the Congregation and to the world. Sisters and her family members constantly visited her and in turn received blessings from her.

On June 4^th Sunday, on the feast of the Most Holy Trinity indeed a great soul Sr Claudia breathed her last at 12.00 noon in the presence of the community Sisters and the Novices and her beautiful soul flew to her creator.
