Sr Miriam P A
Date of Birth: 12.10.1950
Died: 14.10.2022
Sr Miriam P.A was born on 12th October 1950 in Kurachund village, Kerala to Mr. Augustine P.C and Mrs. Annamma P.C. She joined the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation and did her Temporary Profession on 8th May 1972 and Perpetual Profession on 15th May 1978.
Sr Miriam had a tender heart and child like simplicity which made her very close to small children. She rendered her selfless service as a teacher of Nursery school in Tumarikoppa, Hanur and Bogadi. She did this apostolate for a few years. Later she realized that God calls her for healing ministry. She did her Nursing studies at Mission Hospital, Mysore by being a community member of St Philomena’s Little Boys home. After her nursing studies she did healing as well as praying ministry at P G Palya, Doddur, Jompanahalli, Udayagiri, Alanahalli, Kowdiyal, and Udbur. For some time she gave her service at Divine retreat Centre, Kerala and Anugrahabavan Kowdiyal, Bidar.
Healing ministry was carried on by Sr Miriam in the remotest villages where there were no basic facilities for health care. Along with the physical healing she nurtured the spiritual life of the people. She was a daring woman who ventured into the dangerous and challenging areas especially to the forest and tribal areas in Dodduru. She could win over all these people and could extend her healing ministry through prayer and fasting. Word of God was the centre of her life through which she could guide and counsel many people specially those suffering with different ailments. The fruits of her healing prayer and counseling brought many people to God. No one who came to her returned without being inspired. Ardent desire for Holy Eucharist, filial devotion to Mother Mary and the Rosary, love and reverence to Sacred Heart of Jesus kept her in tuned with God and enabled her to celebrate in gratitude the golden years of religious life.
Dear Sr Miriam, You touched, healed and prayed for people and brought healing forgiveness and peace in the life of many families and got them reunited. People sought your guidance in their struggles, sickness, troubles, marital disputes and spiritual dryness. You fasted and prayed for them and we have witnessed how grateful were the souls who got spiritual assistance from you. You will forever live in the hearts of those you touched. We pray that the heaven’s door be opened for you so that you may continue to praise God and send prayerful blessings to us your Sisters. Thank you for your life of love. Rest in peace, dear Sr Miriam!
