The Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, Mangalore Province, organized the Superiors, Formators, Economers, Headmistresses/Principals, and Wardens Meet - 2026 on 4th and 5th July 2026 at Provincialate Shanthi Dham, bringing together all the leaders for two enriching days of learning and reflection on the theme Animate – Accompany – Empower.
The first day focused on strengthening the personal and community dimensions of religious life. Sr Severine Menezes, SAP, addressed the participants on the theme ‘Safe Guarding –Ursuline Franciscan Sisters’ offering valuable insights into compassionate care, respect, and accompaniment of the elderly members of the Congregation. This was followed by an inspiring session by Fr Clifford Fernandes, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Cordel, on ‘Animating Relationship: Vertical in Faith, Horizontal in Love’ emphasizing the importance of deepening one's relationship with God while fostering authentic and life-giving relationships within the community. The afternoon featured the presentation of reports from various communities, enabling the participants to review their apostolic ministries and share experiences for mutual enrichment.
The second day began with the Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr Dominic Vas, OCD, CRI President, Mangalore Unit. Mr Mayur Keerthi, Advocate, addressed the participants on ‘Legal Matters’ highlighting important legal provisions and responsibilities relevant to religious institutions. This was followed by an informative session by Mr Sunil Gonsalves, Chartered Accountant, on ‘Present Financial Laws and Regulations’ equipping the Sisters with updated knowledge on financial governance and statutory compliance. The programme also included important information shared by the Provincial Team and the Province Economer, followed by the distribution of prizes for the winners of Shanthi Sandesha Quiz and a concluding message by Rev. Sr Clara Menezes, Provincial Superior.
The gathering witnessed the presence of Sr Clara Menezes, Provincial Superior, all the Provincial Councillors, Sr Sumana Pinto, Delegate Superior, around 60 Sisters on the first day, and approximately 90 Sisters on the second day, reflecting the enthusiastic participation and commitment of the leadership of the Province.
