The Congregation of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of the North East Province marked their Profession Day with a joyous celebration at Assisi Higher Sec. School, Dimapur on 31st April. Centered on the theme “Consecrated to Love and Serve,” the event reflected the Sisters’ commitment to their vocation of faith and service.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was led by Most Rev. James Thoppil, Bishop of the Diocese of Kohima, and concelebrated by 55 priests. During the celebration, five novices made their Temporary Profession, while nine Sisters pronounced their Perpetual Profession, dedicating themselves to God through the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
In his homily, Bishop James encouraged the newly professed Sisters to remain faithful to God’s call, stay rooted in His love, and bear fruit through dedicated service to the Church and society. In the name of the church, the vows were formally accepted by Provincial Superior Rev. Sr. Juliana Pereira.
A felicitation program followed, where the newly professed Sisters were honored by Provincial Superior in the presence of Priests, Sisters, family members, and well-wishers. She thanked the parents, expressing the gratitude for their generous offering of their daughters to the church. The day concluded with a fellowship meal, marking the celebration with joy, gratitude, and renewed commitment to religious life.
