The UFES, Mangalore Province, under the Adolescent Empowerment Programme (AEP), organized a meeting for Social Change Agents at Lourdes High School, Bejai, Mangalore, on 17 January 2026. Social Change Agent Forums (SCAF) from eight schools participated in the programme.
The UFES, Mangalore Province, under the Adolescent Empowerment Programme (AEP), organized a meeting for Social Change Agents at Lourdes High School, Bejai, Mangalore, on 17 January 2026. Social Change Agent Forums (SCAF) from eight schools participated in the programme.
The event commenced with a school assembly conducted by the students of the host school. The programme was inaugurated with the symbolic release of balloons by Rev Sr Clara Menezes, Provincial Superior, Councillors General Rev. Sr Lydia Serrao, Chief Guest Mrs Manjula Thelagade, and the other dignitaries. The SCAF members then took a pledge, after which the participants assembled in the auditorium for the formal stage programme.
In the inaugural address Rev. Sr Lydia Serrao emphasized that true change begins within oneself and starts from one’s own mindset. She urged the students to take responsibility for becoming the change for tomorrow.
Rev. Sr Clara Menezes, Provincial Superior, Mangalore Province, in her presidential address encouraged the students to follow the mantra, “I will try to bring one change every day,” and inspired them to become positive change-makers in society.
The Chief Guest, Mrs Manjula Thelagade, National Senior Manager for Youth Programmes, Rainbow Homes, India, the resource person of the day conducted various activities encouraging them to be leaders.
