The Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, Mangalore Province, hosted a spiritually enriching and purpose-driven two-day meeting for Superiors, Formators, Wardens, and Bursars at Shanthi Dham, Provincialate. The event, held on July 5 and 6, 2025, brought together leaders from across the province to reflect, renew, and respond to the call of leadership in consecrated life. Rev. Sr Milly Fernandes, Superior General, delivered the inaugural animation, encouraging participants to lead with compassion, vision, and dedication with practical insights. The day’s sessions featured deeply reflective themes, including, ‘Visionary Leadership Rooted in Self-Sacrifice’ by Fr Daniel Veigas OP, Resilient & Supportive Leadership” by Fr Edward Rodrigues SJ. The day also included a meeting with zonal leaders, an evening prayer service, and a solemn installation ceremony of new superiors followed by an orientation session and evaluation by the Provincial Team.
Day two began a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Msgr Maxim L Noronha, Vicar General of the Mangalore Diocese. The sessions on the second day addressed essential administrative themes - Legal Matters presented by Sr Kala Nicholas, the advocate and Present Financial Laws and Regulations’ presented by Mr Sunil Gonsalves, Chartered Accountant.
The Provincial Council and Province Economer provided valuable informations and insights for the governance of communities. The event concluded with distribution of prizes for the quiz and competition conducted and the concluding message by Rev. Sr Clara Menezes, Provincial Superior. The event came to a joyful close with the Congregational Anthem. The meeting was gracefully moderated by Sr Gracy Mathias. The two-day assembly fostered unity, spiritual renewal, and a renewed commitment to mission-centered leadership.
