5th June, 2025 marked a joyous day for the Central Delegation of the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation as Sr Sumana Wilma Pinto was appointed as the new Central Delegate Superior, along with Sr Hilda Albuquerque and Sr Alice Serrao as her Councillors.
5th June, 2025 marked a joyous day for the Central Delegation of the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation as Sr Sumana Wilma Pinto was appointed as the new Central Delegate Superior, along with Sr Hilda Albuquerque and Sr Alice Serrao as her Councillors. The appointment letters were handed over by the Superior General, Sr Milly Fernandes during a heartfelt prayer service led by Sr Juliet Molly Serrao.
The ceremony, held at Holy Rosary Convent chapel, was attended by Sr Rita Vas, Assistant Superior General, and Councillors General Sr Juliana Pinto and Sr Lydia Serrao. In her inspiring message, Sr Milly Fernandes quoted Pope Francis, emphasizing the importance of religious leaders being nurturing mothers to their Sisters rather than mere administrators. She offered valuable guidance on effective leadership.
The new team was warmly felicitated with shawls, garlands, and flowers by the Superior General, Councillors, and former Superiors General, Sr Edilburga Monteiro, Sr Doreen, and Sr Susheela Sequeira and the outgoing officials of the Central Delegation, Sr Jeraldine D Souza and Sr Aurea D Souza.
A special programme was organized to express gratitude to the outgoing team, with Sr Doreen D Souza extending a warm welcome to all present. The Pre-novices presented a beautiful song to felicitate the new team. Sr Rita Vas praised the contributions of Sr Jeraldine D Souza, Sr Aurea D Souza and Sr Sumana Pinto, who were honored with shawls, flowers, and gifts. Sr Jeraldine D Souza expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved. Sr Trecilla Dias proposed the vote of thanks.
