On November 30, 2024 – The Ursuline Franciscan Congregation (UFC), Hubli Province, celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of two key institutions: Shanthi Sadan Convent and the Roshni Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts. The event, held at the new premises –Nalkara Cross, was graced by several dignitaries and members of the Ursuline Franscian Congregation .

The event, held at the new premises –Nalkara Cross, was graced by several dignitaries and members of the Ursuline Franscian Congregation .
Most Rev. Bishop Derek Fernandes officiated the Holy Eucharist and blessed the newly inaugurated institutions. Most Rev. Sr. Milly Fernandes, Superior General of UFC, inaugurated the Shanthi Sadan Convent and presided over the Silver Jubilee ceremony of Roshni Social Action Center. Sr. Gretta Sanjivini D'Souza,Provincial Superior of Hubli Province unveiled the plaque marking the official opening.
The inauguration was attended by various officials of the Congregation and the Hubli Province, as well as the Sisters of Hubli Province. The event also saw the active participation of the UFS who expressed their heartfelt support for the new initiatives.
In the afternoon, Shri Shrinivas Mane, the local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Roshni Social Action Center. He lauded the tireless efforts of the Sisters, staff, and volunteers who have contributed significantly to the success of the rehabilitation center. The ceremony also honored past directors, pioneers, and long-standing staff members for their dedication and service to the center’s mission.
The inauguration of Shanthi Sadan Convent and Roshni Integrated Rehabilitation Center marks a new chapter in the UFC’s commitment to community service and welfare, particularly in supporting individuals affected by addiction and providing them with an opportunity for recovery and rehabilitation.
