
Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, Mangalore Province had its Provincial Chapter with the theme ‘Repair My House in a Synodal Way’ from 11th to 21st October 2024 at Shanthi Dham, Provincialate, Derlakatte. Rev. Sr Clara Menezes was re-elected as the Provincial Superior, Srs Juliana Pais, Gracy Mathias, Trecilla D Mello and Kala Nicholas were elected as Provincial Councillors. Sr Juliana Pais was elected as the Asst Provincial.

During prayer service the Superior General Rev. Sr Milly Fernandes in the name of the Church installed Sr Clara Menezes as the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province for the second term. Sr Clara Menezes then took her oath of office reaffirming her dedication for servant leadership in the service of Mangalore Province. This was followed by the installation of the Provincial Councillors. The Provincial Superior and the team made a self-offering placing the house and joining the half house already built symbolizing, ‘Repair My House in a Synodal Way’. Superior General in her address called the Provincial Superior and Team to be the Shepherdesses, to be Mothers, to be Human, to be Role Models to the Sisters by being persons close to the heart of Jesus to listen to Him. With these words of guidance, good wishes and prayers she congratulated the new team. Thus the ceremony concluded singing the Te Deum.
Thereafter a short felicitation programme was organized. The Provincial Superior and the team were felicitated with wishing song, shawl, garland, bouquets of flowers and the cutting of the cake. Sisters from neighboring communities, novices and the candidates witnessed this significant occasion and offered their joyful felicitations to them. Towards the end everyone enjoyed ice cream, tea and snacks.
