It was a wonderful and joyful experience of Sisters coming together from 16 communities of UFS of North Province to celebrate the Province day on 2nd & 3rd October 2022 at Jeevan Dhara Provincialate, Gaurabagh, Lucknow. Festive mood was seen everywhere with colourful decorations, variety of competitions and cultural programmes.
The theme of the celebration was “Repair My House-in the Spirit of Synodality”. The programme began on 2nd October at 5.00 pm with an Inaugural prayer. Words of Welcome was accorded by Rev Sr Benedicta Tellis, Provincial Superior followed by Symposium on the which was moderated by Sr Juliana Pinto on the topics:
1. Communion, Participation and Mission – the three pillars of Community Life.
2. Repair My House in the spirit of Synodality
The colourful day dawned on 3rd October which began with meaningful Eucharistic celebration officiated by Rev Fr Vincent Pinto the Education Secretary of Lucknow Diocese. His reflections highlighted the contribution of religious to the humanity and their compassionate love towards one another as it is envisaged in the parable of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel.
Followed by that there were various competitions’, such as IQ test, treasure hunt etc and other cultural events to mark this day; almost all the Sisters participated and truly experienced the spirit of synodality of communion among them.
Transitus of St Francis of Assisi was the climax of the day that was enacted by the formees, added joy to the assembly. At the end of the day there was wonder, joy, gladness and gratitude in everyone’s heart for the marvellous day we spent together enriching our minds, hearts and revitalizing our spirit to serve the Lord and people.
