The Extended Council Meeting -2017 was held at Somarpann- Generalate from 1st to 4thNovember 2017. On the first two days of the Meeting the General Council met the individual Councils of different Provinces / Regions/ Delegation and held discussions on various issues related to the respective Provinces/ Regions/Delegation. On 3rd and 4th November Rev. Fr Alvito Fernandes OCD gave the members of the Extended Council a reflective input sessions on the theme of the Extended Council Meeting, UFS: Commissioned to Launch into the Deep.
The UF charism and spirituality if reflected upon in depth and lived authentically empower the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters to launch deeper into self and into the life of the people and transform them into persons of relationship, making them capable of loving God with passion and serving humanity with compassion. May we be grateful to God for such a depth into which we have to launch and make ourselves the credible signs of God compassionate love.
The 4th day of the meeting, the afternoon sessions were for group discussions, General informations. Conclusions were drawn based on the sessions of Rev Fr Alvito and the group discussions. The Extended Council Meeting was attended by the Councillors General, Procurator General, Provincial Teams of the five Provinces of the Congregation, the Central Delegation Team, Sr Juliet Serrao the Regional Councillor of European Region, Sr Veena Mascarenhas from African Region and Srs Doreen and Aurea from the Retreat Directress’s Team of the Congregation.
