23 Sisters made their perpetual profession at St Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia- Mangalore. They professed three vows namely Chastity, Poverty and Obedience in the presence of Rev. Sr Susheela Sequeira, Superior General of the Congregation during the solemn Eucharistic celebration. The Mass was officiated by Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, the Bishop of Mangalore and was concelebrated by about 74 Priests and was witnessed by a large number of Sisters, parents and relatives of the Sisters and well - wishers.
Rev Fr Paul Melwyn OFM cap preached the homily and exhorted the Sisters to walk close to Jesus and become missionaries for Christ. Bishop Aloysius congratulated the Sisters during which he thanked the parents of the Sisters for their generosity in giving their daughters to serve the Lord. He called on the faithful to be more generous in responding to God’s call and motivate and encourage the young boys and girls to embrace consecrated life. The Liturgy of the Eucharistic celebration was prepared by Mangalore Province and the Felicitation by Mysore Province. The Sisters and Formees of the Communities in and around Mangalore offered their generous service in making the day a grand success.
Prior to the Perpetual Profession 30 Sisters underwent intense tertainship programme of four months at the Generalate of the Congregation at Derlakatte under the guidance of Sr Juliana Pinto the Councillor General for Formation. 3 of them made their perpetual profession in Dimapur, Nagaland on 19th April , 2 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 22nd April. The 2 tertians from African Region will make their perpetual profession in Same, Tanzania on 26 June 2017.
