VII PROVINCE CHAPTER 17TH TO 21ST OCTOBER 2015 AT PROVINCIALATE ‘SHANTHI DHAM The VII Province Chapter of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, Mangalore Province was held at Shanthi Dham, Mangalore from 17th to 21st October 2015. It was presided by Sr Doreen DSouza, the Superior General of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation together with her assistant Sr Susheela Sequeira.
THEME of the Province Chapter: “Ursuline Franciscan Sisters, Taking a Stand, Making a Difference with the Mind and Heart of Christ”. 37 Sisters who represented the Province as delegates of the Chapter reflected and prayed over this theme and arrived at the following Vision-Mission Statement that would give a right orientation to our life and mission:
Vision Statement: “We, the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of Mangalore Province, with the Heart and Mind of Christ take a Prophetic stand and make a difference in our life and mission to wake up the world and bring fullness of life”
Mission Statement: “Empowered by the Spirit of Christ, we take a stand to re-instil the sense of the divine, restore human dignity, promote justice and peace, preserve ecological balance and make a difference in our relationship with God, Self, Others and Cosmos”
In the Election held on 19th October 2015 Rev. Sr Rita Vas was elected as the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province. Sr Trecilla D’Mello was elected as the Assistant Provincial, Srs Leena Rodrigues, Lydia Serrao and Clara Menezes were elected as the Provincial Councilors.
