
2014 has been the year of grace for the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of Mysore Province as Sisters Anitha Dias, Avitha Savitha Mascarenhas, Diana Sharita L, Flavy Fernandes, Johnsi Arul Shanthi, Pramila Juliana DSouza, Severine Rodrigues, Sunitha Menezes, Vanitha Josephine Miranda and Infanza Mary (North Province) made their perpetual Profession on April 28, 2014 at Maria Niketan, Bogadi.
The Perpetual Profession celebration commenced with the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Rt Rev Dr Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly, Bishop of Mysore and concelebrated by Msgr Desmond Rebello, Episcopal Vicar for Religious in Mysore Diocese along with 27 priests.
A brief introduction was given by Sr Violet Pinto after which the Sisters took their steps with their parents side by side towards the altar with lamps. Rev Sr Doreen D’Souza the Superior General, Sr Apoline Corderio the Provincial Superior of Mysore Province, Sr Alice Pinto, Provincial Superior of North Province joined the procession. The Bishop in his Homily invited the Sisters to be the messengers of love and peace of the Risen Lord through their Evangelical way of life.
The Sisters made their final Profession of Vows in the presence of Rev Sr Doreen D’Souza. It was witnessed by Sisters, Neighboring Religious brothers and sisters, family members and friends. They made a life commitment to God, to the Church and to the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters through the profession of Evangelical Vows.
A short stage programme was organized after the mass to felicitate the Sisters on their great occasion of dedicating themselves to God. Rev Sr Doreen D’Souza in her message felicitated and congratulated the Sisters and thanked their parents for giving their daughters to the service of the church. Fellowship meal was served to all those were present for the event.
