ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME
As part of its commitment to environmental protection and care for creation, Assisi Social Work Centre, Same, organized an environmental awareness and tree plantation programme involving school pupils. The programme aimed to instill responsibility and love for nature among children and to promote a greener and healthier environment.
During the programme, pupils actively participated in planting 55 saplings at the Assisi Campus and 50 saplings at Majevu Government Primary School. Along with the plantation activity, the children were given awareness sessions on the importance of protecting the environment, the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, and the need to care for and nurture the planted saplings.
Pupils were encouraged to take responsibility for the plants by watering them regularly and protecting them to ensure healthy growth. The hands-on involvement helped children understand that environmental care begins with small but consistent actions.
This initiative not only contributed to increasing green cover but also strengthened environmental consciousness among the pupils, motivating them to become responsible caretakers of nature
