
SOCIAL CHANGE AGENT FORUM (SCAF) INAUGURATION AT HUBLI
The Ursuline Franciscan Congregation, under the banner of the Mother Nympha Adolescent Empowerment Program (AEP), inaugurated the Social Change Agents Forum (SCAF) and held its Annual Gathering on Tuesday, 13th January 2026, at St. Michael School, Shantinagar, Hubli.
Rev. Sr Gretta Sanjivini D’Souza, the Provincial Superior of Hubli Province, presided over the programme. The chief guest, Dr. Isabella Xavier, Founder of Sadhana Women and Child Welfare Society and a noted human rights activist, inspired the students with her thought-provoking address. She emphasized that true social change must begin with oneself and highlighted the importance of having a clear purpose behind one’s goals.
Sr Dulcine Crasta, AEP Convener, Sr Dimple D’Souza, Programme Coordinator (AEP), Sr Reena D’Souza, AEP Coordinator of Hubli Province, along with Sr Milagrin and Sr Lolita, were present for the event.
Nearly 90 students from five different schools, accompanied by their in-charge teachers, actively participated in the programme. The students confidently presented their visions for social change through models and shared videos showcasing various activities conducted in their respective schools.
Rev. Sr Gretta Sanjivini D’Souza delivered her presidential address, encouraging the students to be committed, responsible, and compassionate agents of change in society. Sr Sunita Pinto extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi efficiently compered the programme.
The student presentations were evaluated by Sr Dulcine Crasta and Sr Dimple D’Souza, who provided constructive feedback and guidance, motivating the students to strengthen their initiatives for social transformation.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, reaffirming the commitment of the Ursuline Franciscan Congregation to nurture socially responsible and value-based youth.
